10 Shows I’m Too Lazy to Watch, and You’re Gonna Hate Me for It

You see , I ’ve been cheating because I ’ve been purposefully skipping appearance that I make out for a fact are swell ( because my colleague say so ) only because I ’m too lazy . So , below , we have 10 shows / franchises that I have a go at it are amazing without even watching them . That ’s not in difference of opinion . But for some reason or another , whether they ’re too longsighted or too dense or another bad reasonableness , I just ca n’t get myself to part them .

Avatar: The Last Airbender

I ’ve seen the M. Night Shyamalan movie . That ’s a good representation , ripe ? No , of course , it is n’t . I know because I ’ve heard people say this animated show , and its sequel seriesThe Legend of Korra , are some of the best TV serial ever . Not just vivify . television set , period . And it ’s not eventhat long of a serieswith about 60 installment for Avatar . But still , I just have n’t rally up the desire .

DC Shows: All of them

The Flash , Arrow , Supergirl , legend of Tomorrow , Black Lightning , now Batwoman , Stargirl and more ( plus let ’s not draw a blank theDC Universe showstoo ) . TheseDC show have host of enthusiastic fans , many of whom work on this very web site . The show just finger like , if you were n’t lock in from the beginning , it would be a powerful task to catch up on . ( Note : thisisn’t DC bias . I never really got intoany of the premature Marvel showseither . )

Doctor Who

Here ’s one I in reality tried . WhenJodie Whittaker accept overas the Doctor a few years back , I resolve it was my time . I was experience into the TARDIS , the sonic screwdriver , all of it . But my lack of overall knowledge and maybe a slight strangeness with the show ’s tone made it hard to stick with it . About midway through the season , I dropped off . I know ! Everyone loves it , especially recent seasons — but it just feel like a club I ’m not a part of .

The Expanse

A few years back , I was at San Diego Comic - Con and a gentleman come up to me to thank me . He ascertain my io9 badge and wanted to say how much he , a producer of The Expanse , appreciatedall the gracious thing the situation wrote about the show . I told him we would n’t have said those thing if the show was n’t unspoilt , so we should be thanking him — but also , I was not the one writing those thing . In fact , I had not seen the show … and even that awkward , yet flattering , come across still has n’t gotten me to look out what I ’m sure enough is an excellent show .

Rick and Morty

Of all the shows on this tilt , Rick and Morty is the one Iwould likely get into first . The episodes are unretentive , there are n’t many time of year , and I do n’t think I ’ve ever read a single negative thing about it . In fact , everything I have read about the show — smart mood , mellow papa finish IQ — make me think I ’d love it . And yet , it ’s got this passionate , young fan base that cook me finger like an older toughie for watching it after the fact .

Stargate

I remember seeingthe original Stargate moviein theaters . I call up , “ Holy shite , that idea has so much likely and this movie completely waste it . ” I even call up thinking , a few age later , “ Oh , a TV show is a good idea . ” tight - forrad 20 yearsand multiple unlike showslater , I calculate it ’s probably cool , but I ’ll never get around to it .

Star Trek

“ Ouch ! ” “ Eek ! ” “ Stop ! ” Those are the sounds of me defending myself from the attacks I ’m trusted to get from not just my fellow worker , but lots of you too . ( And it ’s only going to get worse . ) The fact is , I develop up a Star Wars fan . That does n’t preclude me from enjoying Star Trek of class — I wish all the movies I ’ve seen quite a bit — but having not grown up with the series , multiple season of multiple showsfrom multiple earned run average and multiple casts … I do n’t fuck . To plunk in , it feels like it should be either all or nothing and , for now , I ’ll go with nothing .

Steven Universe

For this one I ’m no-account ! genuinely ! Much like The Expanse , io9 has beena vocal champion of this animated showand I ’ve enjoy seeing the mania everyone brings to it . I have no doubt that it ’s dead unbelievable . But even all that vivid adoration somehow still has n’t made me curious enough topress play on season one , episode one . Could that exchange ? Yes . Do I see it happening soon ? No .

Twin Peaks

By this full stop , I am sure you are quick to throw your phone or computer at a paries . “ Is he really survive to talk shit about Twin Motherfuckin Peaks now ? ” No . I am not . I love a good mystery . I love weird character , preferences , and coffee just as much as the next individual . But everyone who loves Twin Peaks is so divisive about it all . Which episodes they love , which they detest , if they like the pic , if they hate the movie , if itshould have come back or not , etc . constitute my persuasion on all of that on top of digesting an already super - dense show just seems wearying .

The X-Files

develop up as a sci - fi fan in the ‘ 90 , I truly do n’t have a good cause why Inever obtain intoThe X - file . perhaps it was airing opposite something else ? Maybe I was a petite chip too young for it and revisit shows at that time was very difficult / expensive ? I really do n’t know . Either way , I completely missed it and knowing how mucheveryone hates every clip it occur backnow , I fancy it ’ a good one to just forget about .
