An Ancient Temple
A lot of the “ future ” episode in the trailer take place in an ancient temple , where I ’m guessing the time - travel doohicky is located . And it reckon like this is the land site of not just a lot of angst , but a huge battle — possibly it ’s attacked by Sentinels ? It sure as shooting looks as though Professor X is shielding his brass from some sort of searchlight in one shot . Check out our best shots of this temple :

Magneto’s Tunnel Escape
Looks as though Magneto get away through some storm tunnels ( which do n’t appear the same as this tabernacle ) along with Iceman and Rogue . ( Update : Several mass below have speculated this is an safety valve from a futuristic prison , where they ’ve rescued an injured Rogue . )
Future X-Men in Distress
We see glimpses of the hug drug - homo from the original trilogy look sad and upset , as well as what might be flashback of Professor Xavier ’s School for Gifted Young Mutants . Old Professor X expend Cerebro at one point , and does n’t look too felicitous about what he finds …
Iceman pronounce something lamentable …

Rogue also looks sad . Things are really messed up in the future , in all probability because Mutants are being wiped out . But also maybe a cosmopolitan dystopian nastiness ? If we ’re follow the comic strip , it ’s not a well-chosen time .

Storm’s Desperate Battle
Looks like Storm gets into a conflict , perhaps to buy everyone else more time inside the fancy tabernacle . She looks pretty freaked out .
Young Xavier
So the big crux of the trailer , of line , is that Wolverine is being sent back in time to inhabit his own young body . ( More on that in a bit . ) And that think we ’re back in the seventies , where we foregather James McAvoy ’s bearded version of Professor X.
Young Xavier enters the Cerebro chamber , flank by Beast ( Nicholas Hoult ) and Wolverine , although you ca n’t see their faces .
Young Xavier freak out out about something , perhaps to underscore Professor X ’s point that when he was a young man , he was very unlike , and that he needs a lot of solitaire from Wolverine . This seems to be in the decade - planetary house .
Here ’s more of the sequence where Professor X goes to utilize Cerebro …
… and I ’m guessing either he has n’t used it in a long fourth dimension , or he ’s been snorting cocain off it . One or the other .
possibly because of Xavier ’s riotous vernal mind , this does n’t move around out well . Cerebro essentially explodes , sending pieces fly everywhere .
Wolverine Vs. Some 1970s Thugs
There ’s a sequence where some 1970s goons endeavor to fill Wolverine full of lead , and he gut them like fish alternatively . Maybe revel being in his younger torso , with the adamantium claws instead of the bone claws he wound up with at the end of his last movie .
The Nixon Administration
There is likely some hanky - panky withRichard Nixon . Maybe Nixon will think of to keep some jammie dodger and a fez on deal this time .

Magneto Makes a Splash
Meanwhile , if Young Professor X is a turbulent troglodyte , hanging out in his star sign and neglecting his duties , then Magneto is out in public , being a much large nightmare . There ’s a scene where Magneto terrorizes a crowd , in what appear to be a fancy edifice . Maybe a museum ? There ’s definitely fancy prowess behind him somewhere . A pot of the Young Magneto sequences seem to take place in this neighbourhood .
Update : A mickle of mass seem to trust this is Paris , although they blast in Montreal .
Magneto seems to have mastered that trick of blow in mid air …
… but the bunch does n’t seem too impressed .
And Magneto still needs to practice a gun . Also remark he ’s not wearing his protective helmet , because he has nothing to reverence from Xavier .
Magneto vs. Mystique
A expectant part of how we know that Young Magneto is a jerk is that he terrorise poor Mystique . Around the same time as the above public display , Magneto also dredge Mystique along the land using his index of magnetic force .
Note the uniform at left , and the awning . Could this be a fancy hotel ?
Magneto looks sad at having to terrorise his associate . Update : multitude are excogitate that she ’s tire handcuffs and he ’s rescuing her , although she does n’t front grateful for the aid .

Mystique’s Mission
Mystique goes on a mission ( probably for Magneto ) that involves disguising herself as a random beau , and also doing some pretty acrobatic soldierly arts at one detail . ( Does she also disguise herself as Nixon ? We can only hope . )
The crowd is running in a panic , maybe from Magneto ’s onslaught …
… and Mystique turns herself into a random stripey - lawsuit bozo .
And takes out a sentry duty in a fancy stateroom .
And finally… time travel!
So how does Wolverine go back in time ? We fuck that Professor X tries it out , and it does n’t work well enough for him , so he has Logan do it instead . possibly because Logan has n’t changed that much since the seventies .
The close - up of Professor X ’s eye at the start of the house trailer shows the after - effects of genial time locomotion , I guess .
And here ’s how the time travelling actually happens . A pair of burn blue hands ( belonging to Kitty Pryde ? ) allude the sides of Wolverine ’s head , causing him a batch of pain as he ’s temporally dislocated .
Back in the past , in the Cerebro chamber , Young Professor X touches Logan ’s head , using his psychical powers to verify that he ’s really from the time to come and stuff .
… and this concluding shot of the two Professor X ’s somehow meeting ( in Logan ’s ) mind , is pricker - tingling . Old Professor X secernate his younger self that he need him to have hope again . Wow .
