A centralized Notification Center was a great increase to OS X. The problem ? Based on their original design , they caused more problem than they solve . In OS X Mavericks , Apple ’s fixing the notifications so that you could deal with the notification decently from a dialog rather than needing to fire up a whole applications programme to utilize them .
In other words , when you get an email or an iMessage , you ’ll be able to answer from a pop - up dialog right there in the notice . You ’ll also be getting notifications immediately on your desktop from any app on your iPhone that has push notifications turned on . That means no more switching between your phone and your information processing system when you ’re at your desk anymore . Or we hope — if Apple actually got it right this sentence .
