Apple ’s iPhone Mail app is n’t bad , but for those of us look to use advanced Gmail functions ( like make out multiple explanation or starring item ) , an app named MailWrangler would fill up in the gaps … that is , if Apple had n’t rejected the program from their iTunes store . Here is the message place from Apple to the developer , six week after the syllabus was submitted to iTunes :
… Your program duplicate the functionality of the built - in iPhone program program Mail without providing sufficient distinction or added functionality , which will conduct to exploiter confusion . …
Macworld points out that “ user muddiness ” is n’t an issuance when one examines the endless faceless Sudoku applications that are usable in the iTunes store , but it ’s a huge problem when such alleged confusion stair on the toes of an Apple covering . But from Apple ’s perspective , it surely would take the wind out of Jobs ’ next keynote if he were to annunciate that the iPhone was supporting a serial of feature already implemented by third party . Maybe it would be more fair for Apple to but restrict family of applications from the iTunes entrepot to get down with and not ware developer ’ time . [ Macworld ]
