The App Store is about to get some much - needed cleanup .
Apple post a letter of the alphabet to developers today warn them that as of Sept. 7 ( the same 24-hour interval as thebig iPhone effect ) , Apple will start reviewing apps already in the App Store andremoving appsthat do n’t follow content guidelines or no longer play .
Apple will start auditing apps and if there are problem find , developers will have 30 day to come forth an update . If no update is issued , the app will be withdraw from the App Store .

It sound like Apple is manage this the right way because even if an app is slay from the App Store , exist customers wo n’t see any interruptions . They ’ll even be able to continue to buy in - app purchases .
This is a retentive time coming . There are over 2 million apps in the App Store , but many of them have n’t been updated in year . In some cases , that might be OK , but because of various changes to iOS , that means that some apps either do n’t work or are extremely bats . And do n’t even get me started on apps that are n’t update for the iPhone 6/6 Plus . We ’re at iOS 10 people , time to get with the programme !
Something I ’ve seen on the iPhone and iPad — especially with game — are apps that are still uncommitted for download ( or for sales event ! ) but then wo n’t even launch after being downloaded . That ’s a bad experience for everyone and it ’s a good affair Apple is ultimately addressing the deluge of abandonware that exists in the App Store .

Apple is also cracking down on apps with long names that do n’t do anything but spam keywords . You know , like when you seek for Snapchat and you get bullshit like this :
App developers will now be limited to 50 character for app names , which means those keyword - loaded name that say small but attempt to hijack app search will hopefully go away .
Good expulsion , spammer . And good riddance broken apps !
