During the Jan. 16 episode of their podcastSorry We’re Cyrus, the mother-daughter duo chatted about Brandi’s new boyfriend, who happens to be Australian — likeMiley Cyrus' ex-husband.
“Men are trash. The majority of them are absolute garbage,” Brandi, 37, said. “But there’s a couple of good ones out there, I guess. I think I found one, so I love that for me.”
Tish, 57, said she is “so happy” for her daughter in response, adding that she has her “hopes up” for Matt, the boyfriend in question.

Tish continued: “You know what, he’s Australian. I’m not gonna rag on American men, but Australian men are just different.”
“Well, not all of them,” Brandi countered, to which Tish agreed with her. The two then looked at each other and laughed before Tish said they would move on to the next subject.

Miley, 32, had been with Australian actor Hemsworth, 35,on-and-off for 10 years. The former couple met in 2019 while filmingThe Last Song. Theyultimately got married in December 2018and thensplit up in August 2019. Theyfinalized their divorce in January 2020.
Miley also dated another Australian man, singer Cody Simpson, fromOctober 2019 to August 2020.

Miley has been dating Liily drummerMaxx Morandoaftersparking dating rumors in December 2021.A source told PEOPLE in Novemberthat the couple “has a great life together” and are “very in sync.”
“He calms her down. She thrives with him,” the insider said. “She finds him talented and inspiring. They have a lot of fun together.”
Hemsworth, meanwhile, has been romantically connected togirlfriend Gabriella Brookssince late 2019andmade their first public appearance together in June 2021.
