Hey , hombre — farsighted time no public lecture . Managing io9 is such a full - clock time caper that it ’s been hard to communicate with you all , countenance alone write affair , such as “ Postal Apocalypse . ” This has bummed me out for a long time . Which is why I ’m stepping down as chief of io9 .
I first add up to io9 in 2012 , and so much has materialise since then . There was the saga of the site locomote to Kinja , the saga of the site becoming part of Gizmodo , the leaving of both of io9 ’s father , a financial body slam by a certain professional grappler , and , of course , Batman v Superman . It ’s been a drive , and I would n’t have switch my time here for anything .
When Charlie Jane left and I took over in April 2016 , it was immediately ( and I mean immediately ) declared that io9 had straight off become a garbage fire . I ’d like to think that that was n’t the showcase , or that if it was the case that at least I observe the fervour manageable . If nothing else , I have made at least one brainy decision — and that was employ Jill Pantozzi , who will be call for over the site . I could n’t be allow for it in better hands .
