Pretty safe . I used The Cars and Beastie Boys for trial tracks , and I got satisfying , rich basso with clear mids and senior high , that in my brief listening time , seemed comparable in clearness to my Shure E2cs , but you have sex , with more bass ( which many hoi polloi think Shures function a bit weak on ) . So , even though I did n’t have a pair of SE210 bud with me , I ’d say it ’s plausible the EX500 Seth is competitive soundwise , though I ’d manifestly want to hear them side by side before making any classical birdsong about how much likewise ( or not ) they sound .
Either room , that measurement would ’ve made more sense before the SE210s dropped toa street price of $ 100 , since the EX500s are n’t undercutting them anymore , but are more expensive , at $ 130 .
Construction wise , I like the metallic element , since it reach them feel robust , though I did n’t really feel the weight in my ears . I think Sony ’s vertical body style for these is a number easy to break right off the squash racquet than some Shures — which take a chip of getting used to — but I marvel how comfort levels would stack up long term ( which , if I ’m wondering , probably ai n’t the best sign of the zodiac ) .
Still , these seem about right for the $ 100range of headphones , not too ratty .
