I ca n’t look at Bill Nye and guess him as anything other than the Science Guy . Hell , I can scantily conceive of scientific discipline without thinking about Bill Nye so I ’ve never really imagine about how Bill Nye became the Science Guy … until now . Turns out , it happened mostly because he ’s so awesome .
Fast Company just did an interviewwith Bill Nye and it ’s incredibly break ( he ’s not just blab about science ! ) and it ’s clear that Bill Nye is as awing as we ’ve always image him to be ( and I do n’t care if he ’s not because he ’ll always be awesome to me ) . He was going to be the next Steve Martin ! He ready ballet shoes ! He once work in radio receiver . But how did it all originate ?
The life history of Nye is pretty impressive . He got a line at Boeing like a creditworthy smart guy but then people said he reminded them of Steve Martin so he get into doing stand up and started indite jokes for a clowning television set show . Nye read :
At this point in time in our story I was working on line blue jet navigation system , laser gyro systems during the day , and I ’d take a cat sleep and go do place upright - up comedy by night .
He finally quit his job and helped out on a radio show by reply lecturer inquiry . But then the comedy TV show needed a few minutes to fill , so Nye stepped up and made his first television receiver appearance . mass sleep with it because upright people have soul and they actually learned something and that led him to become the regular science guy , doing in his news “ goofball skill demonstration ” like “ bubble full of hydrogen that irrupt and jump off a ladder into a paper base that was nothing but an air bag made of paper , and you do n’t get kill . ” Yeah , that sounds pretty familiar .
I think we all wanted to be scientists at one point of our lives because of Bill Nye . I ’m just so very thankful that he became the Science Guy . [ Fast Company ]
