Lenny Kravitzdidn’t know he’d be baring it all in the"TK421" music video.

The rock star, 59, opened up to PEOPLE on the red carpet at the Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards on Thursday night about being in the buff in the music video for his recent single “TK421.”

According to Kravitz, the concept came from Tanu Muino — the director of the music video — who initially proposed it without the caveat of nudity.

“She came to me and said, ‘This is what we’re going to do. You’re going to get out of bed, you’re going to get ready for the day, you’re going to get dressed, and then you’re going to walk out of the house,'” he tells PEOPLE.

The “Fly Away” musician continued: “The morning she showed up and she said, ‘Take your clothes off.’ But it was fun. It was fun, and I had a lot of fun doing it.”

Kravitz dropped the sexy visual for “TK421” in October 2023.

In the opening scene, Kravitz rolls over in his bed — fully naked — as the song’s rollicking tune starts playing in the background. Then, a nude Kravitz seduces viewers as he starts dancing around, smokes a cigarette and washes his naked body.
