During the performance of “Daddy Lessons,” according tofan-filmed videos on social media, Rapp’s audience instinctively sang Beyoncé’s ad-libs in between lyrics. She later invited the crowd to join in for the song’s vocal riffs, and as the song came to a close, they clapped along to the beat.
“Daddy Lessons” finds Beyoncé, 42, reflecting on her upbringing and singing lyrics about learning to shoot a gun from her father, though it’s unclear if the song is autobiographical.
“He held in his arms / And he taught me to be strong / He told me when he’s gone / ‘Here’s what you do / When trouble comes in town / And men like me come around’ / Oh, my daddy said shoot / Oh, my daddy said shoot,” sings the Destiny’s Child alum.
