“My dad is going to be 94 next month. I don’t know if I’m able to fly to Miami to say happy birthday to my dad,” Wendy said, claiming that the “person who is holding me hostage” is to blame should she miss the family occasion.

Referring to her court-appointed guardian Sabrina Morrissey, Wendy said, “Listen, I don’t know if she’s going to let me see my dad for his birthday.” (Morrissey has been overseeing Wendy’s finances and health since 2022,while her family has restricted contact with her.)

A source with knowledge of the matter explained that the guardianship court ultimately holds the power to decide whether it is safe for Wendy to travel to Florida or any other locations outside of her N.Y.C. facility, where she has 24/7 medical care.

“She wants to be here for his birthday,” Finnie said, “and the fact that they’re playing games — I’m sorry, that is just absolutely sickening.”
